Nacex invest in Technology and Information Systems

Nacex, the urgent package and document delivery company of Logista Group, launches its new management system, Diana, a critical business application for the entire franchised network and clients, with the collaboration of Optimyth Software, the market leading technnology consultants in the “technological Optimisation of software applications” field.

Diana is a complex system built on J2EE architecture formed by 9 Linux machines, running two instances of the Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise on each machine. The system is connected to a data centre with an Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition database on two HP SuperDome machines containing 16 high availability CPUs.

Optimyth Software audited the system´s source code quality, software architecture and application performance, identifying hot spots of improvement and providing the appropriate recommendations to improve the system. Optimyth has also assured the correct implementation of these improvements, working closely with the system development team of Nacex.

The consequence of this collaboration is a significant improvement in the system´s performance, resulting in a final production processing capacity and availability far beyond that demonstrated in the initial test.

Optimyth Software used marked leading tools, such as “checKing”, to perform the audit of the source code quality, HP Load Runner to carry out the system performance tests and in addition, several system profiling tools and the statistical data from their database.

Nacex is the urgent package and document delivery company of Logista Group, national leader, with more than 15 million deliveries in 2006, 29 distribution platforms, 311 agencies within Spain, Portugal and Andorra and a fleet of 1,260 distribution vehicles and 2,240 collaborators.
